09.09.2010With Linkin Park confirmed as one of the acts performing at the Yasalam concerts on Yas Island following the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November, Abu Dhabi Week caught up with the band’s bassist, Dave ‘Pheonix’ Farrell to find out what fans can expect from the Californian rockers.
What do you know about Abu Dha
I’ve heard via twitter that a lot of fans are excited we’re coming.
Have you ever travelled to the Middle East before?
This will be our first opportunity to play in the Middle East. I’m very excited to see a bit of the city, and some Formula 1 racing.
What are you expecting?
I’m expecting a great show and we’re excited to play both new and old music for our fans. I’m also expecting it to be hot.
Can your fans expect to see anything new in Abu Dhabi?
New songs … New location … All new.
Who are you hoping will win the F1 this year?
Mario Andretti … Keeping it old school.
Is there anywhere you’re planning to visit after your performance?
I want to see it all … I’m open to suggestions.
The concert, which will take place on Saturday, 13th November, will see Linkin Park perform hits from their albums Hybrid Theory, Meteora and Minutes to Midnight.
Yasalam 2010, organised by Flash Entertainment, is a collection of events that will take place on Abu Dhabi’s corniche, Yas Island and across the capital during the 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Further details are still to be confirmed.
